2006 Afrocentric Books Expo
In celebration of Black History Month, the Black Writers' Guild, MD presented the Afrocentric Books Expo in the Mall at Prince Georges on Saturday, February 25, 2006.
Karibu, the Afro American Newspapers and Express Yourself Books sponsored the event. Twenty-five exhibitors consisted of young poets, novelists, software writers and the
many others. We enjoyed entertainment with song and spoken word. Overall the event was a huge success!
Testimonials...
What a wonderful event. It was well planned and the stage participants were all wonderful talents that I enjoyed. It was a great opportunity to meet other authors and do some trade networking.
I'm already using the calendar for my writing assignments, so I couldn't have received a better gift.

The Expo was quite an event! Such energy about writing! I met inspiring people who are very motivated about writing their experiences. ~ Deborah Sears, New Carrollton Library Staff
I would like to thank the Prince George's chapter for hosting and showcasing a
fantastic event. The entire day flowed smoothly, and I applaud the members for
their dedication, hard work, and time. We had a program, printed names tags and table tents, gift certificates for the children poets in the DC Creative Writing Workshop,
and colorful information packets for all of the exhibitors.
My thanks goes out to the Prince George's Chapter!
